Structured Cabling in United States

Copper and fibre builds, containment, patching, labelling, certification and test results you can hand to an auditor. delivered in United States by engineers who work to the standards, safety regime and documentation expectations of this market. Mobilisation from Ashburn, VA in 24 hours. Northern Virginia alone holds more data-centre capacity than most countries, and the standards stack is different from Europe — TIA rather than EN, NFPA 70E arc-flash rules, and union labour considerations in several markets. An engineer arriving with European assumptions will fail a sign-off.

The United States market

Northern Virginia alone holds more data-centre capacity than most countries, and the standards stack is different from Europe — TIA rather than EN, NFPA 70E arc-flash rules, and union labour considerations in several markets. An engineer arriving with European assumptions will fail a sign-off.

We mobilise from Ashburn, VA and Chicago and Dallas and Bay Area with a target of 24 hours to site. Hubs in Ashburn VA, Chicago, Dallas and the Bay Area give 24-hour mobilisation. Coast-to-coast work is scheduled rather than on-call.

How we deliver structured cabling here

This is where regional standards bite hardest. United States specifies against ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and 568.3-D for copper and fibre cabling, and the test regime that proves compliance is Certification to TIA-1152 (Level IV / IVe) for copper, fibre to TIA-526-14. Installing to the wrong family produces a plant that works and still fails sign-off.

  • Design and installation practice per ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and 568.3-D for copper and fibre cabling
  • Pathways, spaces and separation distances maintained to the applicable standard, not to habit
  • Administration and labelling scheme agreed before the first cable is pulled, so the register is right from the start
  • Certification testing on every link — no sampling — with native results and a signed report per outlet
  • Fibre cleaned, inspected and re-inspected before mating, with end-face images retained for contentious links

Standards and compliance in United States

Work is signed off against the standards that actually apply here, not the ones our engineers are most familiar with. In United States that means ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and 568.3-D as the primary reference, with certification to tia-1152 (level iv / ive) for copper as the test regime.

Site safety runs under NFPA 70E arc-flash risk assessment and PPE category. We supply certificates before mobilisation rather than on request.

Standards applied on site

  • ANSI/TIA-568.2-D and 568.3-D for copper and fibre cabling
  • ANSI/TIA-569 for pathways and spaces, TIA-606 for administration and labelling
  • ANSI/TIA-942 for data-centre infrastructure tiering
  • BICSI TDMM as the installation reference
  • SOC 2 Type II for service organisations
  • HIPAA where protected health information is in scope
  • FedRAMP and CMMC where federal workloads are involved
  • State privacy laws, including CCPA/CPRA in California

Site access and safety

Ashburn and other major markets require photo ID, background screening and often a badging appointment days in advance. Union jurisdiction applies to some electrical work in certain metros.

  • NFPA 70E arc-flash risk assessment and PPE category for energised work
  • OSHA 10 or 30 hour training, plus site-specific orientation
  • Lockout/tagout under OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147

Local questions

Working in United States

Do you certify to TIA-1152 rather than IEC 61935?

Yes. US projects are certified to TIA-1152 Level IV or IVe, with fibre tested to TIA-526-14. We can additionally supply IEC 61935 results where a European parent company requires them.

Are your engineers NFPA 70E and OSHA trained?

Engineers working on or near energised equipment hold current NFPA 70E training and OSHA 10 or 30 cards, and we follow the site's arc-flash boundary and PPE category rules.

How do you handle union jurisdictions?

We identify union jurisdiction at scoping and either work within it or flag it before you commit. Discovering it on site is expensive for everyone.
