The Switzerland market
Switzerland combines very high on-site cost with strict data-residency expectations, so operators optimise for getting it right in one visit. Canton-level language differences and bank-sector scrutiny shape how work is documented.
We mobilise from Zurich and Geneva with a target of 10 hours to site. Zurich and Geneva hubs give ten-hour mobilisation. High labour cost makes planned multi-task visits more economical than repeated call-outs.

How we deliver os & application installation here
OS and application build in Switzerland is run to a written image and a documented baseline, so the ten-thousandth server is identical to the first. Where a customer's own hardening standard applies — and regulated operators in Switzerland usually have one — we build to it and record the deviations rather than silently resolving them.
- Build to the customer's approved image or a documented baseline agreed at scoping
- Firmware, driver and BIOS/UEFI settings captured and applied consistently, with versions recorded
- Hardening applied to the customer's standard; deviations listed explicitly in the handover
- Network configuration, VLAN membership and routing verified against the design before handover
- Compliance and sector guidance relevant to Switzerland referenced where the customer requires evidence of it
Standards and compliance in Switzerland
Work is signed off against the standards that actually apply here, not the ones our engineers are most familiar with. In Switzerland that means SN EN 50173 and SN EN 50174 as the primary reference, with iec 61935-1 certification as the test regime.
Site safety runs under SUVA rules and EKAS directives. We supply certificates before mobilisation rather than on request.
Standards applied on site
- SN EN 50173 and SN EN 50174 for cabling
- SN EN 50600 for facility design and operations
- NIN / ESTI requirements for low-voltage installation
- nFADP (revised Federal Act on Data Protection) and Swiss data-residency expectations
- FINMA circulars on outsourcing for banks and insurers
- EU GDPR where Swiss operations touch EU personal data
Site access and safety
Banking-sector sites require named engineers, photo ID and often a background declaration. Plan 48 hours for first access.
- SUVA rules and EKAS directives for contractor safety
- Written permit for work on or near live electrical parts

Local questions
Working in Switzerland
Can you guarantee Swiss data residency?
Our Swiss work is performed by engineers resident in Switzerland or the EU, and no customer data leaves the site. We do not operate a Swiss-registered entity, which matters if you require a purely domestic contractor.
How do you keep cost down given Swiss rates?
By batching. We combine rack build, cabling and commissioning into a single mobilisation and pre-stage materials, so you pay for one visit rather than three.
Which languages do your engineers cover?
German, French and English across Zurich and Geneva, with Italian available for Ticino. Tell us the site and we will staff to match.
